Psalm 51:10
“Create in me a clean heart, O God; and renew a right spirit within me.”
David doesn't simply ask forgiveness for a single act — he asks for something deeper: a new creation in his heart, not just a repair of the old one.
Let's not overcomplicate this: some parts of the heart aren't fixed by self-effort. They need to be created anew, and only God can do that.
