John 15:5
“I am the vine, ye are the branches: He that abideth in me, and I in him, the same bringeth forth much fruit: for without me ye can do nothing.”
Jesus doesn't say producing fruit apart from Him is difficult โ He says it's impossible. The vine image makes clear that fruit comes from connection, not from a branch's isolated effort.
Let's not overcomplicate this: spiritual effort without a real connection to Christ is like a cut branch trying to bear fruit on its own.
Am I trying to produce spiritual fruit through my own effort, disconnected from a real connection with Christ?
Before an important task today, pause to acknowledge your dependence on Christ instead of relying only on your own ability.
Lord, I want to abide in You. Remind me that apart from You I cannot produce the fruit that really matters.
