Psalm 121:1-2
“I will lift up mine eyes unto the hills, from whence cometh my help. My help cometh from the LORD, which made heaven and earth.”
The psalmist asks a rhetorical question and immediately answers it: help doesn't come from the hills themselves, but from the One who made them. The source of help lies beyond what's visible.
Let's not overcomplicate this: there's no need to search for help in every direction. There's one reliable source, and it's the One who made everything you see.
Where do I lift my eyes first when I need help: to my own resources, or to God?
In a moment of need today, take a literal pause and look up, as a reminder of where your help comes from.
Lord, I lift my eyes to You today. My help comes from the One who made heaven and earth, not from my own strength.
