Ephesians 6:12
“For we wrestle not against flesh and blood, but against principalities, against powers, against the rulers of the darkness of this world, against spiritual wickedness in high places.”
Paul redirects the focus of the struggle: it isn't primarily against flesh-and-blood people, but against spiritual forces that often use human conflict as their stage.
Let's not overcomplicate this: fighting the wrong opponent, when the real enemy is elsewhere, only wears down relationships without addressing the root of the conflict.
Am I fighting battles against people, when the real conflict is actually spiritual?
Identify a current conflict with someone and bring it today in prayer as a spiritual battle, not only a personal one.
Lord, help me discern when my struggle isn't against a person, but against something spiritual behind the situation.
