2 Corinthians 4:16-18

“For which cause we faint not... For our light affliction, which is but for a moment, worketh for us a far more exceeding and eternal weight of glory; While we look not at the things which are seen, but at the things which are not seen.”

Paul calls 'light' and 'momentary' an affliction that in his own life included prison, shipwrecks, and persecution. The comparison doesn't minimize the pain โ€” it puts it in perspective against eternity.

Let's not overcomplicate this: what feels unbearable today may, measured against eternity, prove light compared to what it's producing.

Reflection Question

Am I measuring my current difficulty only by what I see, or also by the eternal weight it produces?

Today's Action

Name your current difficulty and, next to it, write what Scripture says it produces in eternity.

Prayer

Lord, help me not to faint. Let me look beyond what I see today, toward the eternal weight of glory You're producing.
