Colossians 3:2
“Set your affection on things above, not on things on the earth.”
Paul isn't saying to ignore daily life โ he's saying where the center of gravity of our mind should be: not on earthly things as the final priority, but on eternal ones.
Let's not overcomplicate this: it isn't about disconnecting from daily life. It's about not letting the temporary take the place that belongs to the eternal.
Where is my mind spending most of the day: on eternal things, or only on what's immediate?
In a moment of distraction today, consciously redirect your thoughts toward something of eternal value.
Lord, help me set my mind on things above. Let eternal matters carry more weight in my mind than today's urgencies.
