Romans 15:13
“Now the God of hope fill you with all joy and peace in believing, that ye may abound in hope, through the power of the Holy Ghost.”
Paul doesn't describe hope as something we generate through our own optimism. He describes it as something God fills in us โ an overflow that comes from outside, not from within.
Let's not overcomplicate this: when hope runs out, you don't have to manufacture it yourself. You can ask God to fill you with His.
Does my hope depend on circumstances improving, or on the God who fills and sustains it?
Ask God today, in specific prayer, to fill you with joy and peace even though the current situation hasn't changed.
Lord, God of hope, fill me with joy and peace in believing. Let me abound in hope through the power of Your Spirit, not through my circumstances.
