Psalm 62:1

“Truly my soul waiteth upon God: from him cometh my salvation.”

The psalmist doesn't say he finds calm in many things โ€” he says specifically 'truly,' in God alone, a stillness that isn't achieved through distraction but through one concrete source.

Let's not overcomplicate this: there's a kind of noise only silence before God can quiet. No other distraction does that job for very long.

Reflection Question

Where am I looking for calm today that isn't really found in God?

Today's Action

Set aside a real moment of silence today, without screens or distractions, just to quiet your soul before God.

Prayer

Lord, I want my soul to find stillness only in You, not in distractions that just cover the noise for a while.
