John 1:5

“And the light shineth in darkness; and the darkness comprehended it not.”

The verb chosen isn't passive: the light actively 'shineth,' and the darkness 'comprehended it not' โ€” not an uncertain draw, but a victory already established from the start.

Let's not overcomplicate this: the darkness you're going through doesn't get the final word. The light has already won, even if the present moment feels dark.

Reflection Question

What darkness in my life needs to be reminded today that Christ's light has already overcome it?

Today's Action

Name the darkest situation you're facing and declare out loud that Christ's light shines there too.

Prayer

Lord, in the middle of my darkness, remind me that Your light already shines and that the darkness cannot put it out.
