Psalms 90:12
“So teach us to number our days, that we may apply our hearts unto wisdom.”
The psalmist doesn't ask for more days, he asks for wisdom to live well the ones already counted. It's a prayer that recognizes time is limited, and for that very reason, valuable.
Let's not overcomplicate this: closing out a month isn't just turning the calendar page. It's a chance to ask yourself, with wisdom, how you're using it.
If I looked at this ending month as a counted gift, what would I learn about how I'm using it?
Spend a few minutes today looking back over August: one lesson, one grace received, one area you want to grow in come September.
Lord, teach me to number my days with wisdom, not just let them pass by. Thank You for this month, and I hand over the one that's coming.
