2 Corinthians 1:3-4
“Blessed be God, even the Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, the Father of mercies, and the God of all comfort; Who comforteth us in all our tribulation, that we may be able to comfort them which are in any trouble, by the comfort wherewith we ourselves are comforted of God.”
Paul doesn't describe God's comfort as something that ends with you. He describes it with a forward purpose: we receive comfort so that, later, we can comfort others with what we learned.
Let's not overcomplicate this: your past pain wasn't wasted if today it becomes the comfort someone else needs to hear.
What comfort did I receive in my own pain that I could share today with someone going through something similar?
Think of someone going through something similar to what you've lived, and offer them words of comfort today from your own experience.
Lord, thank You for comforting me in my own troubles. Use me today to carry that same comfort to someone else.
