2 Corinthians 9:6-7

“But this I say, He which soweth sparingly shall reap also sparingly; and he which soweth bountifully shall reap also bountifully. Every man according as he purposeth in his heart, so let him give; not grudgingly, or of necessity: for God loveth a cheerful giver.”

Paul isn't talking about giving out of obligation, or giving until it hurts as a goal in itself. He's talking about an attitude of the heart: giving as you've decided, with joy, not as an emotional tax.

Let's not overcomplicate this: what you give matters less than the heart you give it with. God isn't measuring the amount, He's looking at the willingness.

Reflection Question

Do I give from the abundance I already have, or only when I feel like I have extra?

Today's Action

Find a concrete way to give today — time, money, or attention — without expecting anything back.

Prayer

Lord, make me a cheerful giver, not one who gives out of guilt or pressure. Let my generosity reflect Yours toward me.
