Hebrews 13:5
“Let your conversation be without covetousness; and be content with such things as ye have: for he hath said, I will never leave thee, nor forsake thee.”
The verse connects two things that don't seem related at first glance: contentment about money and the promise of God's presence. The root of financial anxiety is almost always a question about security, not just numbers.
Let's not overcomplicate this: the problem is rarely how much you have. It's where you're trying to draw your security from.
What am I chasing today, thinking that's where I'll finally feel secure?
Write down one thing you already have today that you don't usually stop to be thankful for, and thank God for it on purpose.
Lord, take from me the anxiety of wanting more. Remind me that my security comes from You not leaving me, not from my bank account.
