Colossians 3:23-24
“And whatsoever ye do, do it heartily, as to the Lord, and not unto men; Knowing that of the Lord ye shall receive the reward of the inheritance: for ye serve the Lord Christ.”
Paul writes this to people in jobs with little recognition or control over their situation. The instruction doesn't change the circumstances of the work, it changes the recipient: it's no longer a human boss measuring your effort.
Let's not overcomplicate this: you don't need a spectacular job for it to have meaning. You need to remember who you're really doing it for.
Am I working today to impress, to survive, or as if it were truly for God?
Pick one boring or heavy task from your work today and do it with the same care you'd give something that matters to God.
Lord, let my work today, simple as it may be, be an offering to You and not just an obligation to others.
