James 1:2-4
“My brethren, count it all joy when ye fall into divers temptations; Knowing this, that the trying of your faith worketh patience. But let patience have her perfect work, that ye may be perfect and entire, wanting nothing.”
James doesn't say trials are pleasant; he says they produce something: patience with a purpose, not patience as empty resignation. There's a difference between enduring and maturing.
Let's not overcomplicate this: rushing the end of a trial often means missing what that trial came to build in you.
What trial am I trying to rush through instead of letting it do its work in me?
Identify a hard situation from this week and, instead of only looking for the exit, ask yourself what it's teaching you while it lasts.
Lord, I don't like waiting or suffering, but I trust none of this is in vain. Form in me what only patience can build.
