Matthew 11:28-30
“Come unto me, all ye that labour and are heavy laden, and I will give you rest. Take my yoke upon you, and learn of me; for I am meek and lowly in heart: and ye shall find rest unto your souls. For my yoke is easy, and my burden is light.”
Jesus doesn't invite the already-rested to come to Him. He specifically invites the weary and burdened — the rest He offers isn't a prize for holding out longer, it's a place for those who have nothing left to give.
Let's not overcomplicate this: resting in God isn't giving up. It's recognizing there's a lighter yoke than the one you were carrying alone — and we close out July with that invitation left open.
What burden do I keep carrying alone because I feel like asking for help or resting would be failing?
Pick one task or worry from this week and consciously set it down today: delegate it, postpone it, or simply stop carrying it mentally.
Lord, I'm tired of carrying this alone. Teach me to carry things with You, at a pace that won't destroy me.
