Joshua 24:15
“And if it seem evil unto you to serve the LORD, choose you this day whom ye will serve; whether the gods which your fathers served that were on the other side of the flood, or the gods of the Amorites, in whose land ye dwell: but as for me and my house, we will serve the LORD.”
Joshua isn't giving a motivational speech. He's near the end of his life, after watching entire generations fail and return to God again and again, and still he chooses — again, out loud, in front of everyone — whose side his household is on.
Let's not overcomplicate this: a family isn't guided by perfect rules; it's guided by decisions someone is willing to hold to first. Joshua doesn't say "I hope you serve God." He says "I've already decided, and so has my house."
What is my family seeing in me, beyond what I tell them in words?
Choose one small, concrete decision today (a conversation, a moment of prayer together, an overdue apology) that reflects what you want for your household.
Lord, let my household not depend on my memory, but on my example. Help me serve You in a way my family can see, not just hear.
