Ephesians 4:31-32

“Let all bitterness, and wrath, and anger, and clamour, and evil speaking, be put away from you, with all malice: And be ye kind one to another, tenderhearted, forgiving one another, even as God for Christ's sake hath forgiven you.”

Paul isn't asking us to pretend the offense never happened. He's asking us to stop letting it have power over our present. Bitterness doesn't protect the person carrying it; it only keeps them tied to the moment they were hurt.

Let's not overcomplicate this: forgiving isn't saying "it didn't matter." It's saying "I'm no longer going to let this decide how I treat others โ€” or how I treat myself."

Reflection Question

Who am I still carrying in my mind without having let go?

Today's Action

Write down that person's name and pray for them today, even through gritted teeth.

Prayer

Lord, don't ask me to pretend it didn't hurt. Ask me to release what I can no longer carry. Help me forgive as You forgave me.
